About Us

Our Story

From 2007 to 2009, Dr. Veronica Amaku was on a sabbatical leave assignment from the US and worked with Shell Company, Port-Harcourt. Having been away from the country for over 15 years, she was appalled at the sight of children and youths on the streets during school hours selling whatever they can to get by. As a result, she was burdened to pray for the country for God to heal the land.

In April 2008, as she was praying from Genesis Chapter 1:26, she heard the Lord say, “I don’t have a problem healing the land, but where are the men and women whom I can trust to manage it well?” As a college professor, Dr. Amaku knew that the best way to solve this problem is through quality education.

Dr. Amaku contacted her friend, sister and sister-in-law, Professor Frances Obafemi, and discussed the issue with her. After many years of deliberations on various ideas, Ambassador Christian (Now Contemporary) Elementary was born in 2019.

Meet Our Leadership

About ACE

Ambassador Contemporary Elementary (ACE) is a child-centred school committed to providing quality early childhood and primary education in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. Guided by our philosophy of Leadership, Excellence and Service, we provide learning experiences that develop pupils academically, socially, morally, creatively and practically.

Our Classes and Curriculum

We offer Creche, Reception, Nursery 1, Nursery 2, Transition and Basic 1–5, using a British curriculum framework with age-appropriate and engaging learning experiences.

Strong Educational Foundations

We place particular emphasis on the foundational skills every child needs for lifelong learning:

– Literacy: phonics, reading, spelling, vocabulary, comprehension, speaking and writing.
– Numeracy: counting, number concepts, basic operations, shapes, patterns and problem-solving.
– Handwriting: pencil control, correct letter formation, spacing, neatness and legibility.

To support effective learning, textbooks, customised exercise books and essential writing materials are provided for our pupils and are embedded in the school fees.

Every Child Is Unique

At ACE, every child is treated uniquely. We recognise differences in abilities, interests, learning pace and talents. Our teachers provide appropriate guidance and opportunities that enable each pupil to learn confidently and develop their individual potential.

Developing Independent Pacesetters

We encourage our pupils to be highly independent. Children are guided to take responsibility for their learning, personal belongings, tasks and decisions, while developing confidence, initiative and problem-solving skills appropriate to their age.

Our pupils are also nurtured to become pacesetters—children who can think independently, communicate confidently, demonstrate creativity, take initiative and develop leadership qualities. We prepare them not merely to follow but to lead, excel and make a positive difference.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our education extends beyond regular classroom lessons. Every term, the school operates with a structured calendar of activities designed to provide pupils with diverse learning and developmental experiences.

These include:

– Educational excursions
– Charity Day
– NAPPS Day
– Independence Day celebrations
– Vocational and practical activities
– Debate Club
– Press Club
– Dance Club
– Music Club
– Sports and creative arts
– Drama and cultural activities
– Public speaking and competitions
– Educational games and projects
– Talent-development activities

These experiences promote creativity, confidence, teamwork, independence, leadership, communication and practical skills.

Flexible Payment Arrangement

We understand that families have different financial circumstances. To make payment more convenient, parents may pay school fees in a maximum of three instalments, provided there is consistency in payment according to the agreed schedule.

Our Commitment

At Ambassador Contemporary Elementary, we combine quality academics, strong foundational learning, character development, independence, practical experiences, creativity and talent development to provide a well-rounded education.

We are committed to creating an environment where every child is valued, every potential is nurtured and every pupil is encouraged to become confident, responsible and independent.

We teach. We nurture. We inspire. We develop independence. We discover potential. We raise pacesetters.

Motto: Raising Foundations for Many Generations.
